Dear Friends:

Summer is here! Nice warm weather has finally arrived in Steamboat Springs. Kids in the valley have been on a summer break since early June. We have been having so much fun at the kids' sewing camps with Lynn Wunder. Glad to see many fine talents joining us for many different projects. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to keep up-to-date with events, classes, new products, customer project photos and more! Keep those photos coming - we love to see them. Finally, we will be open July 4th. It might be a little busy downtown with the must-see parade, but stop in and say hello if you are out and about.

Happy Crafting!

Best Wishes:

Australian Cottons

Sew-Steamboat-Australian-Cottons

A few years ago we were visited by a fabric rep who was trying to get us interested in the batiks she carries. We really didn't need more batiks, but when she pulled out her fabulous Australian cotton samples….oh my! We had never seen these before and were impressed by the rich colors and unique Aboriginal designs. Even though we loved every sample she revealed, we limited our purchase to 12-15 bolts just to see how they would be received by our customers. Well, we could hardly keep these on the shelves.

Sew-Steamboat-Australian-CottonsThe Yalke green and blue are very popular as are the more subtle Fallen Seeds blenders. We have an apron sample hanging in the shop showing off two beautiful red and apricot prints. There is also a very interesting book showing many items made with these fabrics and information on the meanings of specific designs. So cool!

We are awaiting a new shipment of these popular prints. There will be a few new ones and a restocking of some of our favorites. Lynn is determined to make a wall hanging with these once she figures out a pattern that suits them best so stayed tuned, and come by to check them out!

Yarn Tasting: Nancy Paul

Knerd String is coming!

Stop by the shop on Friday July 7 from 3:30 to 6 pm to “taste” our newest yarn. Knerd String is a Colorado company that dyes beautiful yarns, and we are thrilled to share their products with our friends and customers.

The colors are absolutely stunning and come in a variety of bases and weights. Several samples of knitted garments and accessories will be available to see how lovely the yarns look in finished projects.

We hope that our customers will be as excited about Knerd String as we are to have it in our shop. Please stop by on July 7th to "taste" the Knerd String Yarns and some other goodies!
