Dear Friends:

March is here, already? Spring is right around the corner. Don't you love spring? It always inspires us to clean out the old stuff and start new projects. We already have some cute new quilting cottons here in the shop, and Carol is busy working on our 2017 Row by Row pattern and kits. We need to be ordering spring/summer yarn pretty soon. It's time for the annual Steamboat March Sidewalk Sale from Friday, the 24th through Sunday the 26th. Come by for some great bargains on both fabric and yarn! We need to move some products out the door with our creative shoppers and lighten our load in preparation for inventory! Lorrae Moon from Yampa Valley Fiberworks is coming to teach a Weaving Workshop on Sunday, March 17th. This is very exciting for us to offer something new! The Schact Cricket looms are really a great way to try weaving! Sign up soon because space is limited. Also look for additional knitting classes and an embroidery class with Cho. Okay everyone, get your hospice daffodils (a Steamboat tradition) and start a new project this spring!

Best Wishes:

Carol, Cho, Cindy, Donna, Lynn, Nancy, and Stephanie

Partner Addition: Introducing Stephanie Labossiere

Introducing our new partner - Stephanie Labossiere

Sew Steamboat Partner - Stephanie Labossiere

We are very excited to introduce you, our newest partner-Stephanie Labossiere!

Stephanie grew up in West Virginia, where she enjoyed sewing and needlework in an effort to make clothing that fit her and her dolls. After receiving a M.Ed. from the University of Arizona, Stephanie and her husband David moved to Houston, Texas where she worked as a teacher/consultant for students with visual impairments while David pursued his career in Major League Baseball. Stephanie's husband and two sons vacationed in Steamboat Springs for years, and finally made their dream come true to live in the mountains 10 years ago. Her family loves to ski, camp, hike and travel. Stephanie renewed her love of crafts, especially knitting, as an adult where she participated in a wonderful community of knitters in Texas. She looks forward to sharing her skills and love of knitting with our community of crafters.

National Quilt Day -

March 25th

This year National Quilting Day falls right in the middle of our March Madness Sidewalk Sale!!!  So why not challenge yourself to either start something new, or finish something you’ve already started?  We will have ALL fabric on sale on Saturday and our Sidewalk Sale fabric on sale Friday through Sunday.  The Sidewalk Sale fabric is perfect for quilt backings and with all fabric on sale on Saturday you can start collecting fabric for your next project!

My current quilt, pictured at right, is a new challenge for me.  I’ve never done a sampler quilt.  Each block uses a different pattern and different fabric!  The patterns are from the book “Farm Girl Vintage” by Lori Holt.
