Fall is upon us! Today is our 5th Anniversary! Congratulations to us and all our loyal customers and friends! Come in today and purchase something at full price and get a second item (of the same or lesser value) free. Of course we’ll have some goodies to share as well.
It is hard to believe with all the warm, dry weather we’ve had that winter is just around the corner, but yes, it’s time to think about those holiday projects and doing some charity knitting or crocheting. Any of the partners at Sew Steamboat would love to help you chose some quick and easy but beautiful holiday gift ideas. Cho and Cindy are really into color work while Nancy is partial to hats. Who doesn’t need a hand knitted wool hat?! Stephanie showed us a beautiful, lacey cowl that would be a quick knit while Donna is a great resource for crochet. Lynn is always open to sharing her needle felting ideas, and Carol has a quilting class coming up where you can make a simple but elegant holiday table runner. These are just a few examples.
Along with gifts, we try to encourage everyone throughout the fall to donate handmade hats, mittens, socks and scarves which we will collect and donate to United Way. If you need suggestions for this, please just ask. October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month and we are taking donations for Bust of Steamboat which does a great job of fundraising for mammogram assistance, wellness exams and cancer treatment costs. We’ll also be having a drawing in October for a beautiful pink alpaca cowl perfect for the occasion. Knitted knockers are also a wonderful charity project as are walker bags which can be easily sewn up and are always needed at the hospital.
Warm Wishes from your friends at Sew Steamboat,
Carol, Cho, Cindy, Donna, Lynn, Nancy, and Stephanie
